Dr. Mark Clauss
Before becoming an orthodontic specialist, Dr. Mark practiced general dentistry for five years. In 2005, he returned to school at SUNY Buffalo to complete his post-doctoral specialty training in orthodontics, graduating in 2007. His original dental degree was earned from Temple University in 2000. Your Watertown and Woodbury, CT Orthodontist Dr. Mark joined Dr. Demas as an associate in 2008, and purchased the practice from him in 2017, rebranding the office as Clauss Orthodontics. “This was a perfect opportunity for me to continue treating the patients and families I have come to know over the years,” he says. It’s About the Person Behind the Braces When asked who his favorite patients are to treat, Dr. Mark says all of them are. Why? Because they go through a physical transformation. “You can see the change in their personality,” he says, “they become much happier people.” Our Experienced Orthodontic Specialist Dr. Mark takes as many continuing education courses as he can throughout the year, especially in Invisalign. His professional affiliations and accolades include: American Dental Association American Association of Orthodontists Greater Waterbury Dental Society Litchfield County Dental Society Phi Beta Kappa Away from Work In his spare time, Dr. Mark volunteers with Habitat for Humanity. He also enjoys restoring classic cars and skiing. He and his wife Kelly have one son, Ethan. Dr. Mark is also a self-proclaimed “computer nerd” and claims to know a thing or two about video games — just ask!
